How Same-Day Dental Implants Work
Same-day dental implants—also known as immediate implants or same-day teeth—are an advanced implant technique that allows patients to receive dental implants and temporary replacement teeth in a single visit. Unlike the traditional implant process, which requires a healing period between implant placement and attaching the new teeth, this approach can restore your smile in as little as one day.
At Center for Advanced Dentistry in Loveland, CO, eligibility for same-day implants depends on your oral health and bone structure. Patients with significant bone loss, active gum disease, or certain medical conditions may need additional procedures before implants can be placed, which can extend the treatment timeline. Read on to learn more about the factors that may affect your candidacy for same-day dental implants.

Same-day implants provide immediate cosmetic and functional benefits compared to dentures or traditional bridges, offering a natural look and feel that can improve confidence and quality of life. While this treatment can be life-changing for qualified patients, a thorough evaluation is necessary to determine candidacy.
At Center for Advanced Dentistry in Loveland, CO, your eligibility for same-day implants will be determined during your initial consultation. Patients who receive same-day implants typically return for their final, permanent teeth once healing is complete—usually about three months after surgery.

Smile Design Appointment
It’s time to design your smile! Your next step is a 60–90 minute Smile Design appointment where we’ll take professional photos, help you choose the ideal tooth color and shape, and evaluate your bite and smile to recommend enhancements. After this collaborative planning session, we’ll schedule your transformation day.3.
Procedure Day
Your procedure begins with anesthesia to ensure a safe, comfortable, and pain-free experience. We remove any damaged teeth and tissue, then place your implants with surgical precision. Advanced 3D scanning and photogrammetry are used to capture precise measurements for your custom prosthetic.
While you rest and recover, our on-site lab 3D prints your prosthesis. The same day—or the next—you’ll receive your full-arch implant prosthesis, so you can leave with a restored smile.

Recovery & Aftercare
Some discomfort and mild pain are common during the first week after surgery. We recommend eating soft foods, getting plenty of rest, and maintaining good oral hygiene to support proper healing.
You’ll return for follow-up visits at one week, one month, and three months so we can evaluate your healing and ensure everything is progressing as expected.
5.
Final Permanent Teeth
About three months after your procedure—once your implants have fully fused with the bone and healing is complete—we’ll take updated records and create a prototype try-in of your new teeth. This allows you to preview the fit and appearance before final production.
After you approve the prototype, we will finalize and fabricate your permanent teeth. They will be placed approximately one to two weeks later, completing your smile restoration.
